From the time I can remember, I have always enjoyed sports and physical activities. I played on my High School and College Basketball teams and later went on to coach High School Basketball. While in college, I studied anatomy and nutrition and I knew early on that I wanted to teach or coach in something related to health and fitness. So in l996 while working as a regional manager for a large Reprographics company, I got my ACE certification in Personal Training and worked part time at a health club.
When I moved to Boulder in 2008, I was getting bored from doing the same routine in the gym and was seeking out something new and different. Luckily enough, one of the first people I met here in Boulder told me I had to check out this thing called CrossFit. Two weeks after trying my first class, I was hooked! The constantly varied, high intensity workouts drew me in, but the sense of community and camaraderie is second to none.
With a strong passion for teaching and coaching CrossFit methodologies, I opened Boulder CrossFit in 2012. I am very proud to be a part of a growing CrossFit community here in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. Helping coach and teach people of all ages and abilities to achieve their personal fitness goals is incredibly rewarding to me. I love being a coach and I’m especially proud of all the athletes who work out at Boulder CrossFit. “Work Hard, Have Fun, Make Friends”

Jen was a successful athlete throughout her youth, competing in many sports, and earning back to back State Championship basketball titles her sophomore and junior years in high school.
Taking a “break” after high school, Jen still needed to feed her fiercely competitive nature and found herself on multiple intramural teams throughout university and after and even had a stint with roller derby prior to getting pregnant with her daughter Brooklyn in 2010. But being a busy full time working mom, Jen found herself taking care of everybody but herself, until her best friend introduced her to CrossFit in 2014. Since then, Boulder CrossFit has been her home away from home. “The challenging and constantly varied workouts keep me engaged, interested, never bored and always excited for what challenge might come next. But the sense of community, diversity of members and camaraderie of my fellow competitors and teammates is what keeps me coming back every single day. It’s not a chore for me to workout…it’s something that I look forward to!”
When Jen isn’t working out or coaching at Boulder CrossFit, she’s most likely half way around the world exploring exotic lands and feeding her wanderlust. Her nearly 20 year career in the tourism industry has taken her to over 40 countries and her natural aptitude for leadership roles has landed her numerous stints acting as a tour leader, sharing her deep knowledge of Asia and beyond with fellow adventurous souls.

Ashton competed in CrossFit competitions throughout Texas and Arkansas in 2013 and 2014 before moving to Colorado to plan and co-lead backpacking and mountaineering expeditions for Outward Bound. She’s since found her way to the Front Range and quickly jumped on the opportunity to become a CrossFit coach. Having a very restless mind and constantly thinking about “what’s next?,” Ashton loves that CrossFit training is able to keep her present. She also firmly believes her purpose in life is to love and help people, and she can’t wait for you to experience the mental and physical growth that CrossFit provides!
When not coaching at Boulder CrossFit, you can find Ashton working at Green Chef, exploring the mountains and/or constantly researching/planning for her next adventure! #weekendwarrior
