Aaron was born and raised in Houston, Texas and moved to Boulder in May of 2018. As an overweight child he tended to shy away from sports and physical activities, but for periods of time he played football and tennis while in school, and after high school he enlisted in the Marines. Aaron spent four and a half years in the Marine Corps Infantry and was able to earn the job title of Scout Sniper. Due to the high level of fitness necessary to perform his job, Aaron used weightlifting and running as means to stay in shape, but never truly felt like he was reaching his full physical potential.
Initially he started doing Crossfit style workouts on his own, but once he left the Marines Aaron found his way into a Crossfit gym in Houston. He was naturally drawn to the Olympic Lifting side of Crossfit and quickly became proficient in his lifts, but also was in awe of the wide range of gymnastics movements and conditioning methods Crossfit employed in order to build well-rounded athletes.
Outside of the Gym Aaron enjoys hiking, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and pretty much anything else the mountains have to offer! As a student at the University of Colorado Boulder Aaron Studies Integrative Physiology with dreams of attending Medical school. Crossfit opened doors for Aaron; physically, by increasing his functional fitness level which makes every day physical activities much more doable, and educationally by showing him that his true passion lies in helping people achieve optimum levels of health and happiness.
Crossfit gave Aaron the confidence that he lacked from years of being “the chubby kid” and he hopes to play a role in creating that confidence for the athletes he coaches!
